Nowheresville

Nowheresville is a photographic collage series that depicts the difficulties of becoming. Identity is shaped by both the internal (mental) and external (physical) landscape. By combining these two environments this series presents a surrealistic third landscape in which identity is formed. The solitary and inefficient process of growing into one’s self is represented by desolate landscapes, inscrutable signs, scraps of a map, partially erased pencil marks, and lonely human figures. The familiar twists into a maze and there is no right path to follow, just you and a step in any direction.
